You should explore premium sauces before your conclusion? Your article list a few sauces most made with poor quality ingredients liquid smoke, high sugar content, xanthan gum to thicken the added water. Quality spices which premium sauces are made with cannot be put into a bottle and sold for $2 - $3. Step up and try premium sauces $5-$8 and see what a difference they truly make. You spend $65 on meat, hours smoking and you put $2 worth of ??? on them...you can do better than that! Explore the market and learn for yourself what you have been missing.
